Record number of teams for Touch Footy ‘10
Frank Hay , Cobras captain and touch footy supremo , has galvanized the sports playing students of cambridge for the largest festival the club have run over the three years it has been played.Magdalene have again entered two teams and must be one of the teams to beat as current reigning champions but for the first year St Edmunds have entered the fray and it will be interesting to see if any of the union blues squad make an appearance for them.15 teams in all will battle it out on saturday , 1st of may at cranmer road footy pitch and the team stash has again been very kindly sponsored by Uni Sport UK Ltd . Frank notes , “ It took until two weeks out from the festival for the idea to catch fire but we have ended up closing the comp with some colleges unfortunately left out but we are trying to make it a competition that will move along at a pace and keep everyone as active as possible.We would like to thank Darren Wood of Trinity for his help in making this happen along with Heather Smith of The RFL who will be providing referees for the competition and help with the organization.“ The draw for the competition will be made on friday night by the organizing committee and will be posted on the site prior to kick off.

The CUARLFC 2010 mixed touch footy festival is on saturday , may1st at cranmer road footy pitch.All colleges are welcome to enter teams and Frank Hay is the man to contact regarding entry details and competition rules.

As the summer term starts there is the touch footy festival to look forward to and it will be again at touch footy field of dreams , Cranmer Road and the date will be announced soon.
